Extremely rare Zang/Modern Packages ‘Fat Policeman’ 40mm figure, moulded in glue and pumice powder composition, designed by Roy Selwyn-Smith for Timpo – dates to circa 1947/48 – figure is in very good lightly used condition (a little grubby) – obtained with a job lot of toy soldiers including early Herald MZ British Made marked Guardsmen and although this figure is unmarked Peter Cole says: “Very interesting. I think it’s quite possibly the Selwyn-Smith figure. The size and general look seems to fit with other Zang composition figures from that time. If I was a betting man I’d bet on it being the Selwyn-Smith figure. Great detective work”.
