SOLD Herald Cow & Calves Display – Red Windmill Carton

Rare Herald Farm Display Carton H.5535, containing Cow standing and 2 Calves (brown Ayrshire breed markings) – Note: inclusion of Britains ‘lead mould’ standing cow, replacing the Herald version, having been deleted at the end of 1958. Models are Excellent (though note cow is missing most of her tail). Outer carton marked “A Britains Ltd. Product” and “Made in England” – Red ‘Windmill’ Carton and inner plinth are Very Good, bright colours (plinth background faded, slight ‘foxing’), very slight creasing. Price 29/- in pencil to underside [Belgian Francs] – from a collection of old shop stock recently discovered in Belgium, obtained from the original owner’s grandson; the shop was open between 1956 and 1986. This rare piece dates to circa 1959-1961. Reduced price due to cow missing most of her tail…rare opportunity to obtain a very rare set at approx half usual price!
