Britains Farm Series Model Farm Buildings RARE No.170F Thatched Farm House (roof opens), with Stable, Pigsty, Pond and Bridge. The base measures 18.5 inches long and 20 inches wide. It is described by Joe Wallis in his superb “Regiments of All Nations” book as “the most elaborate of this series of farm buildings”. There are some faults but the chimney for the thatched farm house is present as is the mesh window to the front and the little latch hook to secure the thatched roof when closed. The pond has the original ‘water’ and bridge. The stable is missing one top door and the pigsty is also missing its opening door. Much of the lining paper to the reverse is present with the original price 39/11 in pencil (according to Joe Wallis, in 1959 the retail price was 47 shillings, so this is probably an earlier example, circa 1950’s. Rare survivor. Provenance: from the Woodingdean Toy Farm collection. ** Sorry, no overseas postage, but we are happy to deliver to Sandown Park Toy Fair **
