Festival RARE ‘Antonio the Happy Donkey’

Festival (or Gemodels) Donkey, moulded in white plastic, with Tan spray-painted markings, Black details and Red baskets – this cartoon-like donkey was shown in a cabinet of plastic models exhibited in the Musgrave Museum and sculpted by George Musgrave – underbelly marked ‘Reg Des 926525 England’ – not to be confused with Cherilea – only the second example we have seen – [based on the children’s book ‘Antonio the Happy Donkey’ published by Dean & Son Ltd and written and illustrated by Dinah who also created other characters, including a white poodle pal, Pom-Pom, and other furry friends – fairies and mermaids too]
